 Chennai Box-office (August 22 to 24)
Once again, the weekend was a nightmare for Tamil biggies at CBO. Last week’s number one Satyam has turned out to be the year’s biggest turkey. At Sathyam Cinemas and Inox, the number of shows has been reduced and the film is playing in smaller screens.
At number one is Ram Gopal Varma's horror movie Phoonk, which took a jaw dropping 95 per cent in four Chennai screens. At number two is last week's Bachna Ae Haseeno, which is still going strong.
The Hindi films are above Tamil because of higher ticket rates at multiplexes and better occupancy rate. In the third position is Subramaniapuram and in fourth Dasavatharam, while Satyam has taken a tumble and is in the fifth position.
